Never Wanting to Grow Up. Print E-mail
Written by Ben Ellis
Nov 24, 2008 at 08:37 PM

Wanted to stay as I was,
When I was sweet sixteen,
Didn't want to be twenty
Thirty, forty or even fifty.

Things were better at sixteen,
No responsibility I couldn't handle,
And weren't the girls just the sweetest
When I was just simply sixteen?

Thirty years on and I look back,
And I know in my heart,
Is that I wish I was still sweet
Wish I didn't have to, be expected to,
Be any older than a simple sixteen.

I never wanted to grow up,
I wanted to be forever sixteen.
