This may be the only blanket I have,
But you can move closer and share,
This blanket and our friendship,
Will keep away the cold.

This piece of bread may be the last I've got,
But I'll break off half a share,
And we can sit here and eat together,
And maybe we can chase the hunger away.

The cup sitting near the fire has water,
If you drink half, I'll have the other,
It may not taste like much for its from the river,
But it will keep the thirst down.

I haven't much strength left,
But I can see that you have even less,
If I reach over and hold your hand,
I'll pass you some of mine.

I will never ever leave your side,
Whatever I have, I will give you some,
Because I know you would do the same,
I am your friend and you are one of mine.
