I left you with a heavy heart,
Sad that i may never see the sunshine of your beauty But still hoping that I would return. Now I sit back holding back the tears The years have passed so slowly by, And yet it seems to me you have not grown, Your people, here and there cry and cry louder. Why can't you stop and take stock Those of us who had a chance have flown To make new homelands in stange lands Our strenghts, out brains, our inspirations belong to another land. Africa, the bottom of the barrel is now Can it be possible to sink any lower, Stop and hear the cries of desperation and the cries of hope. Stop and change for many of us want to go home again. |
